Wine

I would like to be able to tell you that this is the wine rack in my new place, but it’s actually one of the many wine racks at David’s Dolce Vita in Hillsdale, Michigan. David’s is a gem of a store which carries many fine things, from wine and cigars to vintage shaving sets and retro board games. I am normally pretty prompt in getting images back to my clients, but this has been an exception due to the transitions in my life.

I am no longer a college student. I graduated in December with a degree in History because I like history and think it is important. I drove home to Texas through the wintry mess past twelve semis and nine cars which were not as blessed as I with safe travel. Christmas was great. The best present was picked up from the airport that day and came all the way from South Africa. No, I’m not referring to my awesome new vuvuzela, but rather my brother.

The next day we left for Clayton Christmas at my family’s ranch in West Texas. I love being out there – especially with my fun relatives. New Year’s was spent in Dallas with my recently-widowed grandmother. The memorial service for my grandfather a few days later was packed, a testament to the man he was. The service honored him and his Lord.

A weekend trip to the ranch with a good friend, a long weekend skiing in Breckenridge, and then I loaded my car and took off across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and up California to my new home in the San Francisco Bay Area. Last weekend was spent buying things for the house I’m blessed to be living in and catching up with friends out here. Ikea is an awesome store. I started back at Sequoia Technologies this week and it’s good to be back. I’m humbled to have the opportunity to work alongside so many talented individuals I respect at a young company with tons of potential.

All this is why I haven’t posted for a while. I hope that my posts won’t be this infrequent in the future. If you’re a reader in the Bay Area or will be visiting the Bay Area and want to meet up, drop me a line.
