Yes, I know today is April fools day, but this is not a joke. I really am beginning to offer many of my photos for sale in both print and downloadable form.

After extensive testing, waiting for the features I requested to be developed, then testing some more, I’m happy to announce that you can now purchase many of the photos you see here as prints for you wall, cards to send to your friends, or for use in your print or web media designs. You’re also able to send any photo as a free e-card. I’m able to offer all of this through a company called Fotomoto. Fotomoto has been really responsive to my ideas and requests and I am really happy with their service and commitment.

I would never want to sell anyone anything that I myself was not completely satisfied with, so I ordered a number of test prints of various sizes and a few in both lustre and glossy to compare. I was very happy with the results. I chose to have them mailed flat, which is the obvious choice for anyone who would ever want to mount the prints, and they arrived very carefully packaged and in perfect condition. One of the prints I ordered was a 12”x18.1” print (sized according to the aspect ratio of my original photo) of my West Coast Sunset HDR image, which turned out beautifully. The folks at Fotomoto apparently really liked it, too, because they’re featuring it on their homepage today. HDR images are often times not as sharp as normal photos because of the exposure blending process, but the print looked great from normal to even close viewing distances, and it wasn’t until I looked very closely at certain parts of the large print that I could even pick out places where sharpness was lacking, which means it won’t be noticeable to the vast majority of people because most people aren’t nearly as nit-picky and critical as I am.

In celebration of this momentous occasion, I am offering a coupon for 50% off an entire order for the first person to make a purchase. Simply plug the coupon code 6C32A1 in the place for it under your order summary during the check out step, and you’ll get the discount – unless someone else has beaten you to it. If there are ever any photos on my site that you wish to purchase but the option to do so is not visible, or you have questions about ordering through the Fotomoto widget on my site, feel free to email me.
