El Capitan in Yosemite

This past weekend my family was in town (sans my older brother who is working in Africa for the next year) and we went to Yosemite National Park. It is such an amazing place. This rock formation, called El Capitan, is 3,000 feet tall and a challenge climbers have scaled since 1958 when a guy climbed it in 47 days. His climbing time has since been shattered and the current record is a mind-blowing 2 hours 37 minutes and 5 seconds. I almost didn’t believe the ranger when he told us that, but according to Wikipedia (which everyone who has an internet connection knows is the source for all fact-checking) it’s true.
