I shot the traditional Delta Tau Delta Fraternity’s photo down at the Arboretum on Sunday, but I did it a little differently this year. I borrowed the college’s new Nikon D3x and 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II. The D3x packs a whopping 24.5 megapixels onto a full frame (FX) sensor. It was fun to shoot with, and the resolution is stunning, but there were a couple things that annoyed me about it, such as not having a dedicated zoom button on the left side of the screen for chimping and the lack of a second multiselector for shooting vertically. I’m really happy with my D300 and vertical grip, but one day would like to have a full-frame body.
