This afternoon I went to hear the Houston Symphony’s performance of Handel’s Messiah. My friend and I ended up split from the rest of our group (can’t argue with free tickets) and sat in the second row right behind the conductor (I candidly took this shot early in the performance, which doesn’t do justice to my actual view because I didn’t hold my iPhone up to take the photo). They were pretty sweet seats, especially considering we were just out of range of being hit by the soloist’s occasional spit while he sang. Even though I had just heard it recently, I still really enjoyed hearing Handel’s Messiah again. I think my college’s performance was on par if not better than the Houston Symphony’s, though my opinion is obviously slightly biased.
