It appears that the power supply in my desktop has failed, which means that I’ll have to order another one and will be without my workhorse for a couple of days. I pulled my photos hard drive out of my desktop and stuck it in the external dock I keep my backup drive in, connected it to my laptop, and now I’m back in business until I can install a new power supply and get my desktop back up and running.
