Late yesterday afternoon the Chicago Water Grill in Jonesville, Michigan, caught fire and at least six fire departments battled to control the flames. It spread next door to May’s Furniture before finally being contained later that night. You can read the breaking news piece on the Hillsdale Collegian’s site here.
Update: Be sure to check out the news update and videos on the Collegian’s site and view some aftermath photos by my friend Chuck Grimmett.
Part of a large crowd of spectators huddled across the street in front of the Saucy Dog, a restaurant which is also owned by Chicago Water Grill owner Wayne Babcock.
An excavator takes down the second of the two vents from the kitchen. The machine tore huge holes in the back of the restaurant to prevent the fire from spreading further.
