Day 365: Sunrise

It’s hard to believe that I started this project a whole year ago. It’s been challenging, rewarding, and a lot of fun. Some of you might be disappointed by seeing a grainy photo from my iPhone as the culmination of a year-long project, but I think the photo is beautiful. Photography is limited to the visual senses; there is no way this photo can do justice to the experience I had. Photography is a weak attempt at capturing moments in our life and just as weak – even with cool HDR effects – at capturing the full beauty of God’s creation. Psalm 19:1 states, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” I think that even this little photo declares the glory of God.

The conclusion of Project 365 doesn’t mean the end of my posting photos, but it does mean that I won’t necessarily have new content daily. Thanks to everyone over the past year who has posted a comment, emailed, or told me that they enjoy my site – that makes me happy. :)

Day 364: Spinning Wheel

Spinning Wheel

I shot this today for an article that should run Thursday.

Day 363: Arizona HDR

Arizona HDR

I forgot I had this undeveloped HDR image from last spring. I really like HDR for landscapes as it helps bring out the details and subtle colors. I hope to explore this some more this semester as I work on my post-processing techniques.

Day 362: Signpost

Some I’ve been to, some I hope one day to visit.

Day 361: Wet Jefferson

Wet Jefferson

The rain finally started to clear this evening. I really hope it doesn’t rain much tomorrow. It’ll be a good weekend no matter what the weather, though, since my parents and grandmother are here visiting. :)
