My friend who is interning on the hill this summer invited me to go on a dome tour of the U.S. Capitol. It was an incredible tour and photos are a sorry substitute for the actual experience, but since many people will never get to see the Capitol from these vantage points, I hope you enjoy the photos I’ll be posting over the next few days.
Saturday I went down to Mason Neck State Park to cover the release of three Bald Eagles back into the wild. None of the eagles were old enough to have the trademark white head that people always think of when they think of a Bald Eagle, but hopefully they will all live long enough to mature to that stage. My family is in town for a few days so they were able to come down and watch, too. One photo ran as a standalone in yesterday’s Examiner.
Each bird was banded before being released.
